Bill Vaccaro
Bill Vaccaro currently specializes in alternative photographic processes. His work has been exhibited nationally and has appeared in B&W Magazine, SHOTS, F-Stop, BLUR, Lenscratch and Flak Photo. BWGallerist.com named him one of ‘The Best of the Best’ emerging fine art photographers for 2012. A solo exhibition of his latest series, The Things She Left Behind, was shown at LightBox Photographic Gallery in Astoria, Oregon last year. He resides a short hop, skip and jump from the shores of Lake Michigan in Chicago, Illinois with his wife.
This presentation will be an overview of his most recent series, The Things She Left Behind, including the motivation behind it, and the use of the wet plate collodion and Ziatype processes used to create it. I will also offer a brief history of the Ziatype process, a digital slide show of the work itself as well as his experiences in producing a handmade book of the series.
