I’ve known this fellow Detroiter for a few more than a few years and always love his wit and style. His photography is excellent as well and we’re proud to have him with us in that capacity this year. As for his work, I think he says it best…
“I use a camera to scratch a creative itch. It is purely for my personal gratification, done with as little thought and intellectual pretense as possible. All acts of photography are my personal moments of Zen. My photography is my view of the world as filtered through my understanding and capabilities as a photographer. As a bit of background or in some manner a kind of bona fide or maybe a conceit, I spent my youth and formal education in the pursuit of art — illustration, painting and sculpture. My photography may simply be a less athletic response to that artistic desire.”
